A little bit creepy, kind of lo-fi and evocative of 60s garage rock, "I Don't Bleed" is a minor-key screed from an imaginary mutant living among rats in gleeful anticipation of the apocalypse.
lyrics
Born with a tail in '79,
Bony and frail and partially blind,
I used to think that the world was unkind,
Now I know that it pays me no mind.
And I don't bleed no more,
And I don't breathe no more,
And I don't need your sympathy,
'Cause I don't bleed no more.
And I don't bleed no more,
And I don't breathe no more,
And I don't need your sympathy,
'Cause I don't bleed no more.
I hear them saying that I look ill-at-ease,
Putrid and pale and smelling of cheese,
And though in life there are no gurantees,
Don't stand to close to me, you'll catch my disease.
And I don't bleed no more,
And I don't breathe no more,
And I don't need your sympathy,
'Cause I don't bleed no more.
And I don't bleed no more,
And I don't breathe no more,
And I don't need your sympathy,
'Cause I don't bleed no more.
I'll be the rats living in your wall.
I'll be the voice laughing down the hall.
And when the rider on the white horse calls,
I'll stick around to watch the curtain fall.
And I don't bleed no more,
And I don't breathe no more,
And I don't need your sympathy,
'Cause I don't bleed no more.And I don't bleed no more,
And I don't breathe no more,
And I don't feel no sympathy,
'Cause I don't bleed no more.
Splendido Pop, che si perde nella
miriade di produzioni in inglese.
Secondo me, c'è spazio per questa musica anche cantata in italiano. Arrangiamenti bellissimi.
